EAST LANSING, Sept. 26, 2023 ~ In a 25-page document, Michigan State Head Coach Mel Tucker and his attorneys responded to the university’s intent to terminate him.

The lengthy letter contained a response to the allegations along with a list of reasons Tucker should not be fired by cause. Tucker’s lawyers ultimately argue he did not breach his contract and “did not engage in unprofessional or unethical behavior or ‘moral turpitude’ by any stretch of the imagination.”

Tucker refutes Michigan State University‘s accusations and, in turn, points out the university’s flaws amid the sexual misconduct case. Not only did he question the validity of the school’s investigation in the complaint against himself, but he also criticizes the school’s inability to maintain confidentiality.

(CONTINUED) Considering MSU’s past of poorly handled sexual misconduct investigations, specifically with Larry Nassar, Tucker claims he is the “fall guy” for the prior negligence.

On the other hand, MSU’s termination letter states there is a body of undisputed evidence of misconduct that warrants the termination of Mel Tucker.

The hearings are approaching soon, scheduled on October 5 and 6.
