Detroit Red Wings Ramping Up at 2023 Training Camp

TRAVERSE CITY, Sept. 21, 2023 ~ The Detroit Red Wings are ramping up at their 2023 training camp as they lock in to prepare for the upcoming season.

First initiated by Scotty Bowman in 1997, the annual training camp takes place at Centre ICE Arena in Traverse City. Comprised of an eclectic group of 68 top-tier players, the training camp hosts a competitive environment focused on teamwork and growth. The talent spends a rigorous 5 days on the ice practicing, scrimmaging, and battling in the famous “Red and White” game.

As the Red Wings have their deepest roster since 2019, they anticipate bringing optimism and enthusiasm to fans, igniting the season in a forward direction. General Manager Steve Yzerman is not looking at the season with a “playoffs or bust” mentality, but he’s rather focused on long-term success and building the team.

Hopefully Captain Dylan Larkin can rally the Wings to greatness this year, making a long-awaited return to the post-season games.
