WASHINGTON DC, January 8, 2023 ~ President Biden gave his State of The Union speech Tuesday, offering a surprisingly energetic address that seemed to serve as a preamble for his expected announcement of intent to run for reelection.

Part of the unexpected vigor came as heckles from a raucous caucus of far-right Republicans gave the president an off script opportunity to lean in and engage.

The exchange started when Biden suggested that some Republicans want to sunset Medicare and Social Security, which brought the accusation of “liar” from Georgia Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, and an audible indecorum from some of her Freedom Caucus cohorts.

(CONTINUED)I’m glad to see … no, I tell you, I enjoy conversion,” Mr. Biden said, suggesting that the outburst meant that legislators were united in their commitment to protect benefits for seniors.

Amid falling poll numbers and growing concerns over his age, the president seemed focused on a contrasting narrative, energetically touting his accomplishments while repeatedly offering the contention that he will “Finish The Job.”

The president plans to capitalize on his momentum from last night, heading later today to Madison, Wisconsin, where he is expected to tout his economic plans for creating good paying union jobs.
