KANSAS CITY, January 30, 2023 ~ The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII after two dynamic NFL championship games on Sunday.
The day’s action started in Philadelphia, as quarterback Jaylen Hurts and the Eagles pulled out ahead of the San Francisco 49ers early, and never looked back.
The trailing 49ers’ woes were compounded by an early game right elbow injury suffered by starting rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, and a later sidelining of 4th string quarterback Josh Johnson due to concussion protocol. Perdy returned to the game late, though his injury appeared to limit the Niners to a ground game that didn’t succeed.

(CONTINUED) Later in the evening, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes pushed through a high ankle sprain in a back-and-fourth game that ended in a narrow 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. The win snapped the Bengals’ three game winning streak over the Chiefs, sending Mahomes and his teammates to their third Super Bowl in four years.
Super Bowl LVII occurs Sunday, February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on FOX.
