DETROIT, January 9, 2023 ~ The Lions have ended the season with their first winning record since 2017. Unfortunately however, the Seattle Seahawks win earlier in the day ensured that the Detroit team will not be in the playoffs.

I’m telling you, we were unfazed,” said Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell. “We knew what we were coming in here for, and it was to gain some respect and show what we’re capable of, no matter what happened. And we knew the only way to do that is to win.”

Starting the season with a 1-6 record, the team impressively closed with a 9-8 at Lambeau Field, all while knocking Aaron Rodgers and the Packers from their playoff slot.

DETROIT, January 2, 2023 ~ Detroit‘s decisive 41-10 win against the Chicago Bears Sunday brought the Lions one step closer to clinching the final wild card slot in the NFL’s National Football Conference.

Locking the berth for Detroit will require a loss this Sunday afternoon by the Seattle Seahawks, plus a Lions win Sunday night at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers.

(CONTINUED) “I think it’s just so special,” Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell told reporters Sunday.

Seriously … you get to go to Lambeau … historic Lambeau … where the tops in this division has been Green Bay every year for years, and to go earn your right to potentially get in. Even if you do get that win, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to get in. I know this … we’re guaranteed to get one more week … it doesn’t get any better than this.

The NFL announced Monday that Sunday’s Lions / Packers game has been moved to prime time. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. on WDIV Local 4. The Seahawks / Rams game airs earlier on Sunday, with coverage starting at 4:25 p.m. on Fox 2 Detroit.
