LANSING, July 15, 2021 ~ Wednesday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the first four winners of the ‘MI Shot to WInCOVID-19 vaccination sweepstakes. The four winners of $50,000 prizes each are from New Baltimore, Wyoming, Southfield and Detroit.

These safe, effective COVID-19 vaccinations will keep you and your family and your community safe, and the most vulnerable among us safe as well,” said Governor Whitmer during the Tuesday drawing. “We are fortunate to have them and we are going to continue to make efforts to reach out to people across the state, meet them where they are, answer questions and help them get their shots.”

As of Tuesday morning, more than 1.7 million Michiganders were registered for the cash prize drawings, and more than 77,000 young applicants were registered for the scholarship prize drawings.

Officials stated Tuesday that Oakland County is less than 1% away from the 70% resident vaccination goal. Statewide, 62.4% of Michiganders are vaccinated as of Tuesday afternoon.

Daily winners will be drawn for the sweepstakes through August 3.
