Eastern Market Flower Day Turns Into Flower Season

DETROIT, May 11, 2021 ~ Flower Day, the annual event in Detroit’s Eastern Market has been dubbed Flower Season for 2021.

The event typically takes place each year on the Sunday after Mother’s Day and brings upward of 100,000 people. However, for 2020, due to social distancing protocols, the event was limited to an online-only format.

This year the event is in-person again, and is extended through June. Flower Season sales take place every Tuesday in May from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., and every Saturday from 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

May 7, 2021 ~ Eastern Market President Dan Carmody talks to Paul W. about Flower Season in May and says flowers add a lot to a home.

There will be no online sales or orders this year, and all flower shopping must take place in person.

According to a press release, most of the flowers and plants will be available in Shed 6.
