GM Moves To More EV’s

General Motors is taking another step forward in it’s quest to go all electric.

GM will convert it’s Spring Hill, Tennessee assembly plant into an electric vehicle factory. GM will spend two billion dollars to re-tool the plant to build the Cadillac Lyriq, a small electric S-U-V, due in showrooms in late 20-22. Spring Hill becomes the third factory at GM which make E-V’s, along with Orion Twp. and Factory Zero, formerly known as Detroit-Hamtramck.
GM will also spend 153 million to upgrade five plants in Michigan. Delta Twp. will get the Acadia crossover being transferred from Tennessee.
Spring Hill will also continue to make some gasoline powered vehicles, and engines that go into S-U-V’s and trucks. The Spring Hill plant is GM’s biggest factory complex in North America.
