The MLB is moving towards a 2020 regular season opening on July 23 or 24, according to Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr.  In a statement, Manfred said the health of the players, and other employees are a top priority.  Training is set to begin on July 1. A 60 game schedule is currently under review by the Players Association. The games will mainly be between teams within the same division, in order to reduce travel.
