A former Detroit Metro Airport official is scheduled to be sentenced on his conviction on bribery charges.
52 year old James Warner of Commerce Township was charged with receiving more than 5-million dollars in bribes.
He was an airport manager and field inspector.
Prosecutors say he fabricated invoices and overcharged the airport for work performed by contractors over a four year period.
Warner fought the charges and decided to go to trial and was convicted following a trial that lasted over parts of three weeks.
He is now facing up to 30 years in prison.
It would be the longest corruption crime sentence in U-S history, surpassing the 28 year sentence now being served by former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.
