State Police shot a gunman who led them on a chase from a Fed Ex facility in Livonia to I-96 nearby. Police shut the freeway for hours, WB I-96 between Farmington and Newburgh roads.
Police say the incident began at the Fed Ex facility in Livonia, where a man showed up and shot his girlfriend . Livonia Police arrived, state police were called, and the gunman led police on a chase with the girlfriend in the car, along EB I-96. The driver got off the freeway, did a turnaround, and got back on the WB lanes, where police cornered him and a trooper shot the gunman.
The man who police shot and the woman he shot are in critical condition, according to MSP.
