Why did an off-duty Detroit Police officer drive into a light pole, killing him and his girlfriend?
His brother says he may have fallen asleep at the wheel after an evening of fishing.
Police say the car driven by James Hearn slammed into the light pole in the median of Woodward and State Fair. Hearn and his girlfriend were dead at the scene. His 11 year old daughter was injured.
Family and friends were at a vigil for James Hearn last night at Martin Luther King high school.
Hearn was on the force for 4 years.
