MSU: Sue Players For Rape, Not Us

A female student who charges that a Michigan State counselor’s office discouraged her from reporting that she was raped by 3 basketball players, is told by the university that she can sue the players, but not the university.
M-S-U replies to her lawsuit that the alleged incident occurred off-campus and was told only to the counseling staff. The university says the lawsuit should be dismissed.

The lawsuit alleges that 3 MSU basketball players raped the woman in 2015, and the university counseling center advised her not to report it to authorities. It was not reported to police.
