A new study out of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine finds that those who are stressed are twice as likely to develop mild cognitive impairment, which predisposes people to Alzheimer’s Disease. Researchers believe that reducing stress can help to lessen the rate of Alzheimer’s disease in the U.S. Nearly 500,00 people suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease each year and moderate alcohol consumption might help people with mild Alzheimer’s Disease live longer. A new Danish study published this week analyzed people with mild Alzheimer’s and found that those who enjoyed two or three alcoholic beverages a day were about 77% percent less likely to die as early as those who didn’t. The researchers added, however, that on the basis of the study they could neither encourage nor advise against light drinking for patients with mild Alzheimer’s.
