GOP candidates courted voters at the Republican Jewish Coalition on Thursday. Some talked tough on terror: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie citing the mass shooting in San Bernardino as a terrorist attack. While others stumbled as they tried to connect with the Jewish audience, Donald Trump alluding to old stereotypes saying, “Is there anybody that doesn’t re-negotiate deals in this room? Jim Gilmore started with, “Last night I was watching ‘Schindler’s LIst.’ Everybody here has seen Schindler’s List.” Ben Carson seemed to stick with his script but kept pronouncing “Hamas” as “Hummus.” Rick Santorum focused on fighting radicalism and John Kasich referred to his mother’s teachings of Jewish friendship. Lindsey Graham, not wanting to be outdone, reminded the audience that he has the only Jewish cabinet in America. Bidding the attendees farewell, Jeb Bush and Carly Fiorina wished the audience “Happy Hanukkah” and George Pataki went out in style wishing everyone Happy Hanukkah in Hebrew.
