State representative Cindy Gamrat, Republican from Plainwell, says she’ll speak with reporters this afternoon. Gamrat is in the middle of a Lansing scandal. Rep. Todd Courser, R-Lapeer, has publicly acknowledged that he orchestrated a fictional email campaign in May which suggested he had sex with a male prostitute in order to distract from his relationship with Gamrat. Courser apologized but said he would not resign. Both courser and Gamrat are now the focus of an investigation into whether the pair misused state resources to hide their extramarital relationship
