OFFICIAL WEATHER CALL: FORD FIREWORKS ARE ON FOR TONIGHT AT 9:06 PM – FIREWORKS SHOW TO TAKE PLACE ONE HOUR EARLIER THAN ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED

DETROIT (22 June 2015) – The Parade Company has announced that the Ford Fireworks are officially on for tonight, Monday, June 22 at 9:06 p.m.—one hour earlier than originally scheduled—along the Detroit River. The official weather call was made by The Parade Company in conjunction with the Detroit Police Department and other key partners due to the anticipated inclement weather.

“The Parade Company and our partners have everything in place to launch a successful 57th Annual Ford Fireworks display this evening, one of the best fireworks displays in America,” said Tony Michaels, president & CEO, The Parade Company. “This year’s spectacular show is scheduled to go off an hour earlier in order to avoid any potential inclement weather.”

Fireworks attendees are advised that bad weather is expected late afternoon and/or early evening and should be aware and come prepared. Additional updates will be released as needed.

In its 57th year and recognized as one of the world’s largest and most magnificent fireworks displays in the country, the Ford Fireworks produced by The Parade Company is a Detroit tradition, bringing hundreds of thousands of spectators from across the region to attend and experience one of the city’s most celebrated summer events.

The Parade Company, a non-profit organization, raises the funds necessary to make this event possible and selects the musical arrangement to which Zambelli Fireworks stages more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects which will be visible for miles along the Detroit River. Themed “Colors of Love,” the show will be choreographed again this year by the world-renowned Patrick Brault who has years of experience designing pyrotechnic displays including the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

The Ford Fireworks can be viewed on WDIV-Local 4’s live broadcast beginning at 7 p.m. News/Talk 760 WJR will do a special radio simulcast throughout the event and provide up-to-the-minute traffic and weather information throughout the day.
