Monroe County Sheriff’s officials say a 10-year-old pulled from the water at Sterling State Park has died. The Monroe County Sheriff’s dive team, marine unit and “raptor” unit were all deployed in an effort to recover the boy. Investigators say a 911 call received on Friday just after 4 reported that the child had been struggling in the waters and was ultimately swept away by strong currents. An investigation into the case is still underway.
