Eastern Michigan University’s governing board approved a 7.8 percent increase in tuition and fees. It means the cost for an in-state freshman will be $10,417 for the year, not including campus housing. Eastern says it still expects to be near the bottom of Michigan’s 15 public universities in terms of cost. The university may set a record for the number of incoming freshmen.
