A 14 year old boy who is accused of shooting his mother last week after she disciplined him will be charged as a juvenile. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charging the boy with assault with intent to murder, felonious assault and possession of a firearm. If convicted, a judge will decide whether to sentence him as a juvenile or an adult – or a blended sentence.
The shooting took place about 8 p.m. June 11 in the 15400 block of Wisconsin Street in Detroit. Police said the mother had disciplined the teen and he reacted by shooting her. The Prosecutor’s Office says the teen also pointed the gun at his brother.
