Here’s a big road project — I-94 is set for a major repaving job in Detroit. The freeway will get 67 new overpasses and new pavement on 7 miles of I-94 between Conner and I-96. It will cost 2-billion dollars. Most of the money will come from federal highway funds. The total job will take a number of years to complete. Construction is expected to begin in earnest in 2019, although replacement of major bridges is happening before that.
