Detroit police say three people, including an officer, have been injured when a speeding car on Mound road hit a tree and burst into flames near McNichols road.  Police saw the car near the mound correctional facility at Davidson street and report that it was heading south at a high speed. Before police could pursue the car, the driver lost control and ran into the tree.

Two people that were in the car are hospitalized.  An officer was injured while rescuing the two people from the burning car. That officer is listed in temporary serious condition.
