Law enforcement is kicking off a seat belt enforcement campaign that’s scheduled to run through the end of the month. Michigan landmarks will be “buckling up” to celebrate Seat Belt Safety Awareness Day. The top of downtown Detroit’s Renaissance Center is to feature the “Click It Or Ticket” campaign logo.
The effort will encourage motorists to comply with the state’s seat belt law and reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries. Police departments, sheriff’s offices and the Michigan State Police will conduct stepped up seat belt enforcement in all of Michigan’s counties during the campaign. Enforcement runs through May 31.
