DETROIT, MI — An 8-year-old Detroit girl ran into the road and was struck by a 2006 Dodge Charger about 5 p.m. Saturday, Detroit police say. “The driver of the vehicle was unable to stop before striking the victim,” Detroit police said in a statement. “The victim did not survive the injuries sustained in the accident.” The accident occurred on Puritan in Detroit’s west side.
The driver had the right of way and witnesses told WJBK-TV, Fox 2 News the girl was chasing after her grandfather who’d already crossed the street.
