Fiat Chrysler’s U.S. Sales Rise for 60th Month Straight

DETROIT, MI – As you may have heard on the Paul W. Smith Show this morning, FCA US reported a 2 percent rise in U.S. sales for March to 197,261 units. The increase was modest, but the volume of sales was enough to mark the Auburn Hills company’s best March since 2007, and its 60th consecutive month of growth.

“March was a tough month, yet we were able to extend our year-over-year sales streak to an even 60-consecutive months,” Reid Bigland, FCA US head of U.S. sales, said in a release. “Five years of consecutive monthly year-over-year sales increases is a great symbol of FCA’s commitment to continuous improvement and a tremendous source of pride for our entire organization.”

The Jeep, Chrysler and Ram brands all posted increases (23 percent, 13 percent and 39 percent, respectively), while Fiat and Dodge sales declined on an annual basis in March, falling 3 percent and 15 percent, respectively.

It was a record sales month for the Chrysler 200, Dodge Dart, Dodge Journey, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Patriot models, and the best-ever March for the Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Compass and Ram ProMaster van models.
