More Ford Job Cuts Coming

Ford is letting go hundreds of salaried employees this week and more later this summer, as part of a worldwide restructuring that will cut 7-thousand jobs.
500 involuntary job cuts will occur this week involving salaried employees in North America. Most of them are believed to be in Dearborn and the Detroit area.
300 will occur later.
Ford CEO Jim Hackett says the process is eliminating unnecessary bureauracy.
Ford is making deep cuts in it’s European operations and is closing a factory in South America. Ford has been offering buyouts and cutting jobs of targeted salaried employees for several years. But the company is hiring in hi-tech areas that support self-driving and electric vehicles.
