A hearing is scheduled for today in Jackson County Circuit Court for a man challenging his current prison sentence.
His ex-wife says his freedom would mean her death.
46 year old Kevin Beverly is currently serving a 14 month to 5-year prison term on a witness retaliation charge.
He was also sentenced to 15 to 35 years in prison on witness intimidation and other charges in Washtenaw County, but his attorney is that case says he is also considering filing an appeal.
Nicole Beverly of Ypsilanti Township says her ex-husband was serving a 5-year prison term back in 2012 on an aggravated stalking conviction when he made 4 attempts to hire others to kill her and her 2 sons.
She says he has no doubt he will carry out those threats if he is released.
