Guilty Driver Must Honor Dogs Of Victim

A distracted driver who caused a fatal wreck in west Michigan must do community service in honor of the victim’s love of her dogs.
Rhonda Vandermyde was adjusting the air conditioning in her truck and didn’t see the vehicles stopped for a red light. She slammed into an SUV and killed the woman who was driving.
Vandermyde pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor.
The judge ordered her to do 300 hours of work at the local humane society in Holland, Michigan, in honor of the victim’s 3 Chihuahuas.
