John James, the Republican candidate for U-S Senate, says his campaign made a big error in not catching a swastika which was shown briefly in one of his TV ads.
The swastika is briefly shown on a bulletin board in a school hallway while James talks off-screen about failing schools. He said the scene is from stock footage.

James says there was no excuse for his campaign not catching it.

A Democratic candidate for Congress in west Michigan, Matt Longjohn, is being attacked by Republicans.
Longjohn says he has a medical degree from Tulane University, and refers to himself as Matt Longjohn, MD.
The state of Michigan says he does not have a license to practice medicine in Michigan. His homestate of Illinois also does not have Longjohn listed for a license.
Longjohn is running against Republican incumbent Fred Upton.

The son of Susan Rice, a hi-ranking official in the Obama administration, says he will not press charges against Melinda Hernandez, who was part of a loud protest by liberals and Democrats against a Republican student rally at Stanford University. David Rice Cameron, the son of Susan Rice, is president of the Stanford campus Republicans. Rice Cameron says he is a conservative, and a supporter of President Trump. Rice Cameron was shoved by Hernandez, who was given a ticket for misdemeanor assault.
