Even if the repaving is not complete, the westbound I-696 will have some open lanes in Macomb County during the winter, as work was stalled for weeks in a labor dispute. That’s according to M-DOT spokes-person Diane Cross. Cross says M-DOT will have the lanes open through Macomb in the winter even if the work has to be completed next spring. Cross says the total job still could be completed before the onset of winter, if the weather is good.
