Pleas Come In Job Training Scandal

Two guilty pleas are expected this week in Detroit Federal Court today in what has been described as a sophisticated money laundering scheme.
57 year old Alphonse Iacobelli of Rochester Hills and 54 year old Monica Morgan-Holiefield of Harrison Township have both cut a deal with the government.

He is due in court today.

She is to appear on Thursday

Holifield is the widow of former UAW vice president General Holiefield.

She and Iacobelli were charged as part of a scheme that siphoned more than one million dollars from a blue collar training fund.

Prosecutors say they spent the money they stole on luxury items such as a new 350-thousand dollar Ferrari, 375-thousand dollars in home improvements, to pay off a 262-thousand dollar mortgage and for 30-thousand dollars in airlines tickets.

Two others charged previously pled guilty in the scheme.

They are 61 year old former Fiat Chrysler financial analyst, Jerome Durden of Rochester Hills and 65 year old Virdell King, a former UAW official.
