Detroit’s police blotter is littered with shootings and killings over the weekend.

Police are investigating a shooting that left a 24-year-old man dead. The man, who was the father of twin 8-month-old boys, was shot multiple times on Sharon Street near Patton Park – That was the latest in a string of at least 21 shootings, and 7 deaths.

Five people were shot on Gratiot, on the east side, Friday night. One victim died.
Also on the east side, on Packard and Savage, a man was ambushed by three men.
At 4 a.m. Saturday, a 45-year-old man was found fatally shot on Minock, on the west side. Police have no suspect. Also on the west side a 35-year-old woman was driving her car on West Warren when she was shot multiple times by a man in another car. Two people are in custody.
Saturday night, a 27-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were leaving a home on West Seven Mile when a black SUV pulled up. Two men got out and started shooting. The man died from gunshot wounds.

Detroit Police officials are expected to address the latest round of violence today at the grand opening of a new Seventh Precinct building.
