Governor Snyder says he will testify before a congressional committee on the Flint water crisis. The governor’s office said Snyder called the committee’s chairman, Jason Chaffitz of Utah and offered to testify before the panel. Snyder says he wants to recommend improvements the local, state and federal levels. The committee was criticized by Congressional Democrats by not inviting Snyder. The State Department of Environmental Quality has taken the lion’s share of the criticism for not requiring corrosion control in the Flint water supply when it switched to the Flint River in 2014 allowing lead to leach from old water lines.
