The former Grosse Point Park businessman is serving a life prison term in the 2012 murder of his wife Jane. Bashara has long denied having anything to do with her death and is seeking a new trial, claiming among other things that he had an inefficient legal counsel. Today marks the resumption of the hearing on his request. In previous testimony he admitted to taking part in a lifestyle of bondage and sex slaves, but he denied that he wanted his wife killed so that he could continue this lifestyle. Prosecutors have said that this is exactly why he wanted his wife out of the way. This will be the 8th day of his appeals hearing process.
