Kelly William Cobb is a senior strategist at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, where he focuses on advancing free-market solutions and government accountability across Michigan. With a career spanning national and state-level policy advocacy, Kelly has held leadership roles at the Cato Institute and Americans for Tax Reform, where he built coalitions and led outreach efforts to Congress, federal agencies, and state governments. His work reflects a deep commitment to individual liberty, economic freedom, and transparent governance.
A third-generation small business owner, Kelly remains active in Oakland County’s civic and political life. He earned degrees in Political Science and Philosophy from the University of Michigan and lives in Birmingham with his wife and four children. His experience in both public policy and entrepreneurship brings a grounded, practical perspective to his conversations on “Mackinac on Michigan,” where he engages with leaders and changemakers shaping the future of the state.
