Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has filed an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court. Local 4 News is reporting Kilpatrick’s attorney told them the appeal was filed Wednesday with the U.S. Supreme Court. A jury found Kilpatrick guilty in 2013 of Kilpatrick rigging contracts, taking bribes, and other corrupt acts, often with contractor Bobby Ferguson. A text message trail elaborating how he and Ferguson fixed deals is what eventually tipped the jury’s verdict.
