The computer dominates even when it comes to the age-old past time of Christmas shopping. Next Monday is Cyber Monday and analysts are predicting it will be the biggest Cyber Monday ever, with sales topping $30-billion. The downside is many workers will take time away from their jobs to do their on-line shopping. University of Detroit-Mercy marketing professor Michael Bernachhi says many owners, instead of trying to fight the problem, are giving their employees some free time during the day to shop on-line, with the belief that the incentive can actually employee productivity. Bernacchi says he would not be surprised in the future to see Cyber Monday turned into a Cyber Week.
