The Mayor of Warren is taking a personal interest in making sure fireworks regulations are being followed over the weekend. Mayor Jim Fouts has been upset about Michigan loosening its regulations in 2012 and strictly enforces those existing in his city. Fouts rode along with officers Saturday night, keeping an eye on reveling residents to make sure that they did so — even stopping to remind them of the restrictions such as not drinking or doing drugs while shooting off fireworks and not letting minors set them off. He also helped make sure his city went quiet after 11 pm. Violators face a 500 ticket or 90 days in jail.
