REDFORD, MI — A mother gave birth in the company bathroom Tuesday, Redford police say. Police were called to the business located on the 12440 block of Glendale in Redford and transported the woman and her baby to the hospital where the newborn was pronounced dead. Police are investigating but provided few details in a statement issued Wednesday.
According to WJBK-TV, Fox 2 News reporter Taryn Asher, who spoke with employees of Ceva Logistics where the woman worked, coworkers heard moaning coming from a stall and later found a large amount of blood in the bathroom. Police were called and found blood on the mother, who had attempted to return to work at her cubicle; the baby, dead already according to witnesses, was discovered in a bag beneath her desk, WJBK-TV, Fox 2 reports.
