DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Lions took down NFC North rival Green Bay Sunday afternoon at Ford Field, winning 20-17 behind a game-winning field goal from Jake Bates.
There was no shortage of ridiculous moments in Detroit’s fourth win of the season. The Lions survived two fumbles and two failed fourth down attempts, while Packers’ kicker Trey Smack missed two field goals, including one late in the fourth quarter that would have given Green Bay the lead.
Lions’ safety Brian Branch tallied an interception in his first game back since tearing his Achilles last year, and the crowd went crazy for the Pro Bowler in his return.
Detroit will be back next Sunday for another NFC North test against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m.
