LANSING, MICH. ~ A federal lawsuit has been filed against health insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.

The case, which was filed last Thursday, alleges that BCBS illegally operates as a health insurance monopoly in Michigan.

The company responded to the lawsuit with a statement, saying that they disagree with Nessel’s claims.
