DETROIT ~ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time when survivors, families and support organizations come together to raise awareness and celebrate those affected by the disease. Events across metro Detroit are highlighting stories of resilience while connecting patients and families with resources, support groups and services throughout their cancer journeys.
For many survivors, the month is also a reminder that no one has to face cancer alone. Organizations such as Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit are using October to honor survivors, support caregivers and encourage those facing a diagnosis to seek help and build community.
