Dispute Over Missing Cell Phone Leads to Deadly Detroit Shooting

October 2, 2026 ~ Marie Osborne updates us on the latest with the arrest made in the mass shooting in Detroit at a “after hours” club.

DETROIT ~ Three people were killed and four others were injured after a dispute escalated into a mass shooting on Detroit’s west side. Authorities say the violence stemmed from an argument over a missing cell phone and occurred at an alleged illegal after-hours club operating out of a home.

Prosecutors have charged a 25-year-old Detroit man in connection with the shooting, while the investigation remains ongoing. The case has renewed concerns about gun violence and the consequences of conflicts that quickly turn deadly, including for bystanders caught in the violence.
