Lions Fall to Bills, Turn Attention to Jets

September 18, 2026 ~ Lomas Brown and Anthony Bellino join Kevin Dietz to break down the Lions’ matchup against the Bills, assess Detroit’s performance, and discuss what the team needs to improve moving forward this season.

BUFFALO, N.Y. ~ The Detroit Lions fell 41-31 to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night despite a strong performance from quarterback Jared Goff, who threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown caught nine passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns, but Buffalo’s offense pulled away late to hand Detroit its first loss of the season.

The loss dropped the Lions to 1-1 after an overtime win in their season opener. Detroit will return to Ford Field on Sept. 27 to face the New York Jets, whose head coach, Aaron Glenn, previously served as the Lions’ defensive coordinator.
