Lions Face Early Season Test Under the Lights in Buffalo

DETROIT ~ The Detroit Lions head to Buffalo tonight for one of the NFL’s marquee early-season matchups as two 1-0 teams look to prove they belong among the league’s elite. Detroit escaped with a 31-30 overtime win over New Orleans in Week 1 behind 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Jahmyr Gibbs, while quarterback Jared Goff threw two touchdown passes.

The challenge gets tougher against a Buffalo Bills team that opened the season with a 36-31 victory over Houston and will play the first regular-season game at the new Highmark Stadium. Bills quarterback Josh Allen passed for 334 yards and two touchdowns last week, setting up a showdown between two offenses that combined for 67 points in their season openers and could turn Thursday night’s game into another high-scoring affair.
