AUBURN HILLS, MICH. ~ A 22-year-old Detroit man shot and killed a 20-year-old Pontiac man while a nearby 19-year-old woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries at Great Lakes Crossing Outlets on Saturday evening. Police are still looking for another individual who was involved in the altercation. The suspect was taken into custody while the woman was hospitalized.
The fight started in the food court bathroom then spilled out into the dining area, according to police. The Detroit man, who has a concealed pistol license and surrendered without incident, told police that the Pontiac man who died and the other individual jumped him.
Possible criminal charges could come today for the isolated incident, as Auburn Hills Police Deputy Chief Scott McGraw expects to present the charges to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office as soon as Monday, according to The Detroit News.
Saturday’s shooting marks the second deadly incident at a Metro Detroit mall in the past eight days after two people were shot and killed at Fairlane mall in Dearborn.
