DETROIT ~ A bribery scandal has hit Detroit City Hall after an FBI case was unsealed Tuesday, alleging that a former city official who was in charge of the Detroit People Mover shuttle downtown took bribes from a businessman.
According to documents from the U.S. District Court, former Detroit Transportation Corporation Director Michael Anderson, 55, allegedly took over $300,000 in bribes from local businessman Terrence Parker from 2023-25. The case alleges the bribes were in exchange for helping Parker receive paid contracts from the city for work that was never done.
