IRAN ~ The U.S. and Iran traded military blows Monday amid tense negotiations, with violence raging across the Middle East threatening to crumble peace talks.
Iranian officials said it launched retaliatory missiles towards U.S. military sites in Kuwait after they said the U.S. violated ceasefire terms by striking military sites within Iranian territory. U.S. and Kuwaiti officials later said the missiles were intercepted mid-air.
Another conflict that threatens U.S.-Iran peace talks is Israel’s military operations in Lebanon, with Israel ending its military operations in the country being a key sticking point for Iran in negotiations. Israel shows little interest in ending its assault on the nation, which it claims is meant to target Hezbollah. Over 3,400 people in Lebanon have been killed by Israel since the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began on Feb. 28.
