TROY, MI ~ A highly anticipated watch release closed down a store for the weekend in the Somerset Collection after a chaotic scene at the mall brought in police presence.
Large crowds across the country gathered outside storefronts for the watch brand Swatch this past weekend for a limited release of a collaboration with luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, or AP for short, which was called the Royal Pop Collection. Police arrived early Saturday morning at Somerset due to safety concerns, with the AP watch release cancelled at the store.
According to Instagram posts from Somerset, Swatch was closed Saturday and Sunday, but reopened Monday morning. However, the mall stated the AP watch will not be available at Somerset.
