March 31, 2026 ~ Dr. Roy Finkenbine, history professor at University Detroit Mercy, joins Marie Osborne to discuss his time as a professor before retiring later this year.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ Professor of History and Department Co-Chair in the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences at University of Detroit Mercy, Dr. Roy E. Finkenbine, is set to retire this spring. On top of his work in the classroom, Finkenbine has dedicated his career to amplify Black voices, serving as director of the Black Abolitionist Archive and Interim Director of African American Studies. To honor his efforts, UDM has established the Dr. Roy E. Finkenbine History Scholarship for history majors. To help UDM reach its goal of $25,000, the school has set up a donation page linked here.
